After the victory over Albion Sports on Tuesday night, optimism will be high amongst the whole team, but they are also aware that they will have to be at their very best if they wish to get a positive outcome from what is the toughest fixture of the season so far.

Tuesday night saw an impressive performance with goals from Mitchell, Rhodes and another strike from in form striker Antony Brown meant that the derby night spoils for this game stayed at Dennyfield. It could have been more as well with the Dennyboys hitting the post twice, including a thunderous strike from in form winger, Finn Donovan. Also returning to the squad to bolster depth was Ben Bodle who started the game at left back, and adds further options with the recent injury to full back Lewis Gardner against Beverley Town.

The Opposition:

It would be an understatement to say that Silsden have enjoyed a good season up to this point, with their current form and league position being an excellent reflection of the hard work that has been put into the club in recent years.

The ‘Cobbydalers’ have managed to remain unbeaten in league competition since the later half of September, whilst they also find themselves on a good run in the FA Vase.

There is clearly a good capacity for goals in the squad also, with them putting multiple past the likes of Pickering, Parkgate, Winterton Rangers and Knaresborough Town.

Silsden’s squad is full of experience and familiar faces, with striker Jake Cassidy having played in the National League with the likes of Guiseley AFC and Hartlepool United, whilst Ross Daly and Tom Greaves (formerly of Guiseley and FC United of Manchester respectively) are both former Dennyboys that will be familiar to Thackley supporters.

Leading the goal tally for the side is Kayle Price, with him having netted 14 in all competitions so far this season.

Previous Meetings:

The two sides have already met this season, with the game at Cobbydale seeing the hosts run away as 3-0 victors after an impressive second half display saw Ellis Hudson, Price and Luke Brooksbank get on the scoresheet.

The previous victory for Thackley came last season, with Finn Donovan and Greaves ensuring that the Dennyboys saw out a 2-0 victory on the day.
